Why now

The last long weekend before Christmas

The Immaculate Conception on 8 December is a public holiday in Italy and in Austria, and traditionally the start of the Christmas season. This year the calendar is kind: a single day off on Monday turns the weekend into four free days.

Il Pelagone is open in December too, with its restaurant, apartments and an 18-hole course that is playable all year round. In December the course is quiet and tee times are never an issue.

You arrive, park the car and leave it until you head home: breakfast, dinner and golf are all on the same estate.

How it could look

Three nights, four days of golf

Green fees also apply on the days you arrive and leave. Arrive on Saturday, leave on Tuesday, and you play on four days without paying for a single round.

Saturday 5 Dec: Arrive, collect your keys, play a first round or hit a few balls on the range. Your first dinner at the resort in the evening.
Sunday 6 Dec: Out on the course after breakfast, with a cart. A second round in the afternoon, or a quiet hour on the terrace.
Monday 7 Dec: The day you take off, and the quietest on the course. Everyone else is at work.
Tuesday 8 Dec: Breakfast, a last round in the morning, then home on the holiday without rush-hour traffic.

One golf cart per night is included, so three for three nights, subject to availability and to be reserved on arrival. To play the course you need a valid handicap certificate up to 54.

18 holes outside your door

The course winds through cypresses, olive groves and hills and is playable all year round. Plus eight Toptracer bays on the driving range for a bucket between rounds.

Green fees cover your whole stay. Two rounds on Sunday, one on Tuesday morning or none at all: you decide day by day.

The first tee is a few minutes’ walk from your apartment.

How do I find the package in the booking?

Choose your dates above and the link opens the booking with them. Under each apartment you will find “Ponte dell’Immacolata” among the rates.

Do I have to arrive on Saturday?

No. Every night from 3 to 9 December is bookable, from a single night. Saturday to Tuesday is the classic long weekend, but Friday to Tuesday or just one night work just as well.

Can I cancel?

The rate is non-refundable and paid in full at booking. In return, dinners, green fees and carts are already included.

I don’t play golf. Is it still worth it?

If you travel as two and only one of you plays, yes: green fees apply to everyone but nobody has to use them.

How many carts are included?

One cart per night, so three for three nights. Carts are subject to availability and need to be reserved on arrival; if all are taken, there is no entitlement to one. Additional carts can be booked on site.

I have an allergy or eat vegetarian.
